The original design of this house centered around a large tree, which was lost to the invasive 'Polyphagous' Shot Hole Borer shortly before construction. Despite this, the courtyard-style layout was retained, preserving a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. Stone walls, built from rocks sourced on the client’s farm, frame the courtyard and provide a rustic backdrop.
