Schaerer Architects were co-administrators with Prof Paul Kotze. This competition, commissioned by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, called for a new memorial in Company’s Garden to honour over 1 700 Black South African servicemen of the First World War, whose contributions were historically overlooked and underrepresented.
